A Girl's Guide to Personal Hygiene

The Girl's Guide to Personal Hygiene is a project which unearths the gross things girls do and don't tell anyone about. It started as a facebook group, where I invited women to share their dirty habits, with the aim of understanding what it really means to be feminine - not only clean and floral, thankyouverymuch. We shared laughter and embarrassment and felt a growing connection as we revealed our innermost secrets. I illustrated a selection of the stories & worked with designer James Sutton to create a risograph-printed chapbook printed by Hato Press. Since then it’s been published as a longer book by Soft Skull Press in the USA & Scribe in the UK.
