ABOUT TALLULAH
I am an artist based in Frome where I live with my son. My work ranges from line drawings, ceramics and oil paintings to exploratory ink work and writing. Each aspect corresponds to a different creative need.
I’m inspired by nature, the self, and other people. Playing all the time.
I studied illustration at Falmouth in Cornwall, and worked in Brooklyn as an apprentice for poetry publisher Ugly Duckling Presse and Enchanted Lion Books. I worked for Catapult.co magazine as an illustrator. In Morocco I participated in an artist residency and made a map of Taghazout town. I don’t think the map ever made it onto the wall because it was so huge, but I did try surfing. I lived in Bristol, volunteered at Studio Upstairs, and set up the Girl’s Guide to Personal Hygiene. I built a studio floor with me two pals, then returned to Falmouth to make a pottery studio with me two other pals. Born on the new moon, I am always starting things, rarely finishing. I travelled to Nepal for a while, joined an artist residency in Marpha where I created a children’s book called This is a Basket, met wonderful Nepali people, and studied Nepali language. I became obsessed with mountain culture. Back home again I started to show my work, enjoying art shows as a way to dispel gloom and make things happen. I showed work in my father’s studio/gallery in Bruton in November 2022; in 2023/2024 I showed in No. 6 Bruton. There is an upcoming show in April at the Silk Mill in Frome.
